Howard Saunders: Ker & Downey Safaris

Ker & Downey Exclusive Wildlife Areas

One of the reasons that you see such an abundance of wildlife and so few other tourists on a Ker & Downey safari is that they hold prime and exclusive areas in the finest game viewing locations in East Africa. Ker & Downey has forged strong community relations over time with tribal elders, and as a result has secured exclusive access rights to stunning wilderness areas. These conservancies are either inside the national parks and game reserves or adjacent to them. Some allow for the additional freedom of walking and game driving at night. Some are vast, others relatively small. But all of these special areas are ideally located to give that unique feeling that this part of Africa belongs to you.

Over the years, the Ker & Downey tradition has led us to seek out the furthest corners of the remaining wilderness. We are constantly searching to find new special areas and maintaining old favourite places to take you. We currently hold exclusive game viewing areas in the Amboseli National Park, the Masai Mara National Reserve, Shaba National Reserve, and as of 2003, the exciting Namunyak Wilderness Conservancy.
