Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi forest is home to 300 endangered Mountain gorillas, and a visit
to the lush, enshrouded jungle will fulfil the wildest dreams of anyone
who has ever wanted to trek in search of Africa's Great Apes.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
This park lays claim to the highest bird count in Africa, as well as
some of the greatest concentrations of hippos. Sitting astride two of
the Albertine Rift Valley lakes, QE is also home to healthy populations
of lions, Uganda kob, chimpanzees and elephants.
Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale is the best place in Africa to view wild chimpanzees. There
are many habituated troops here, and to hear their hooting and calling
as you walk through the forest is unforgettable! Many other primate species,
as well as multitudes of butterflies and birds make for a very pleasant
stay.
Murchison Falls National Park
Made famous by Winston Churchill on his visit to Uganda, Murchison's
stretch of the Nile River makes for some of the best wildlife viewing
in the country. As you cruise upstream to the impressive Falls your eyes
will be cast over crocodiles, hippos and countless birds.
Rwenzori National Park
Anyone looking for breathtaking adventure in Africa can find no better
challenge than a week-long hike in the fabled ‘Mountains of the
Moon'. Endemic plants and birdlife will astonish those intrepid enough
to visit the misty valleys and icy peaks.
