TANZANIA
Serengeti National Park
The endless grasslands of the Serengeti are world renowned for not
only the many wildebeest, zebra and gazelle who make their annual pilgrimage
over its plains, but also for the big cats who are found here in plenty.
Lion, leopard and cheetah all reside here in large numbers.
Ngorongoro Crater
Packed with game and wonderful opportunities for close up experiences
with Black rhino, lion, hyena and elephant, Ngorongoro is always a highlight
of any safari into northern Tanzania.
Selous Game Reserve
The largest expanse of protected land in Africa, Selous and the mighty
Rufiji river offer marvellous wildlife viewing. A diversity of attractions,
from Tiger fishing, to learning tracking skills on the Selous game trails
will fill the visitor with awe for this vast Reserve.
Ruaha National Park
Regarded as one of the most exotic and remote safari destinations on
the continent, Ruaha is a must for anyone wishing to get a feel for the
real Africa. Large herds of buffalo moving down sand rivers; a glimpse
of a kudu antelope's spiral horns; a pack on African wild dogs panting
in the sun – these are all treasures of Ruaha's wilderness.
Mahale Mountains
Mahale's picturesque Ottoman style camp on the shores of Lake Tanganyika
is the base for exploring the lush hillsides that rise steeply to the
East. And for anyone who makes the effort, the rewards of some fantastic
chimpanzee viewing are there.
Katavi National Park
Characterised by huge herds of buffalo, and rivers packed with hippos,
Katavi is the classic isolated African wilderness. A warm and cosy private
lodge accommodates the few who make it to Katavi's splendour.
Zanzibar Island
The famous Spice Island has for centuries treated visitors to privileged
insights into the rich tapestry of its history. From slaving days to
modern resorts along white sand beaches, Zanzibar will please all who
wade onto her shores.
